The VER009S-class riser: the little board that let a generation of builders run big GPUs in slots that were never meant to hold them. PCIe x1 in, full x16 out, with a USB 3.0 cable bridging the two and a powered adapter feeding the card.

Read the power note or read a return label, your choice: full wattage needs the supplemental 6-pin / SATA power connection. SATA power alone tops out around 50W, which is fine for testing and not fine for a hungry GPU. It is mining-era hardware and we are not embarrassed about it - it does one job, and it does it at a price the big-box stores do not bother matching.
